Cookie Policy
MyRent uses essential cookies only: no tracking, no advertising. Here's each cookie we set and how to stay in control.

01What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and visits, most importantly keeping you signed in. Some cookies are strictly necessary for a site to work; others (for advertising or tracking) are optional. MyRent only uses the strictly-necessary kind.
02Our approach: essential only
We keep this simple. MyRent sets essential cookies only: the ones needed to sign you in, keep the site secure, and remember that you’ve dismissed a notice. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party marketing pixels.
No tracking cookies. No consent banner toggles.
Because every cookie we set is essential, there is nothing optional to opt in or out of. The brief notice you see on your first visit is an acknowledgement, not a consent gate.
03Essential cookies we set
These are necessary for the site to function and cannot be switched off without breaking core features such as signing in. Because they’re essential to a service you’ve asked for, they don’t require consent under the ePrivacy rules.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session (auth) | Keeps you signed in and authenticates your requests after you log in. | Session |
| Session cache | Short-lived cache of your account role and plan so pages load without re-querying on every request. | 5 minutes |
| myrent_cookie_consent | Remembers that you have acknowledged this cookie notice so we don't show it again. | 12 months |
| myrent_newsletter_seen | Remembers that you have seen or dismissed the newsletter sign-up prompt. | 30 days |
We also store a small flag in your browser’s session storage(not a cookie) to remember a phone number you’ve chosen to reveal on a listing, so you don’t have to pass the bot check again on the same listing. It is cleared when you close the tab and is never sent to our servers.
04Analytics, without cookies
To understand which pages are useful and keep the site fast, we use Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless. It collects aggregated page-view and performance data without storing cookies or persistent identifiers on your device, and does not build a profile of you. Because it sets no cookies, it doesn’t require consent.
We also use Sentry to detect and diagnose technical errors so we can fix them. Sentry runs as part of the application and does not set advertising or tracking cookies in your browser. More on both in our Privacy Policy.
05Sign-in with Google
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies on its domains as part of the sign-in process. Those cookies are governed by Google’s cookie policy, not ours. We only receive your basic profile (name, email, profile picture) to create your account.
06Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings; most browsers let you block or clear them per site. Note that blocking our essential cookies will stop parts of the site (such as signing in) from working.
For more on the data behind these cookies and your rights under the GDPR, see our Privacy Policy.
07Changes
If we ever add a new cookie or tool, we’ll update this page first, and if anything non-essential is ever introduced, we’ll ask for your consent before setting it. The “last updated” date above shows the current version.
